Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using the PantryTalk mobile application (“App”) or website at pantrytalk.de. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
PantryTalk helps you manage grocery lists and pantry inventory. Features may include manual entry, expiry helpers, optional live shared lists, optional Shared Household sync, optional cloud AI, local notifications, and optional live grocery alerts. Optional paid plans may be offered under PantryTalk Plus. We may add, change, or remove features over time, and we do not promise perpetual availability of any feature.
You must be at least 16 years old in the EEA/UK (or at least 13 elsewhere, or the age required in your jurisdiction) to use the App. If you are under the required age, you may use the App only with verifiable parental or guardian consent.
You may use PantryTalk as a Guest without linking a cloud account. Guest mode stores data locally on your device only.
Optional features require signing in with Google via our authentication provider: cloud AI, live shared grocery lists, Shared Household, subscription entitlements, and related cloud sync. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs under your session on your device.
Your pantry inventory and related settings are stored on your device by default. Grocery lists are stored locally by default. You are responsible for backing up your device and keeping your data safe. Uninstalling the App or clearing app data may permanently delete local information.
If you choose to share a grocery list, a copy of that list’s items is stored in the cloud so invited participants can sync — see §5. Pantry inventory is not shared through free shared grocery lists. If you create or join a Shared Household, selected pantry, grocery, receipt, and related data may sync in the cloud — see §6. Optional Pro cloud backup may also store a pantry snapshot — see the Privacy Policy.
PantryTalk is a household utility tool, not professional dietary, medical, financial, or food-safety advice. Expiry reminders are helpers only — always use your own judgment about food safety.
Live list sharing is optional. You choose when to share a list or join with an invite. Before the first share or join, the app shows a short cloud-sharing notice; by continuing you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy for list sharing. Plan limits are shown in the App. PantryTalk is a household utility — not a public social network. Shared lists are invite-only and not discoverable in the app. By sharing or joining, you agree that the shared list’s content (list name, items, and check-off state) will be stored in our cloud and visible to other members of that list.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted sync or permanent cloud storage of shared lists. You should keep your own copy of important shopping information.
Shared Household is an optional feature for syncing selected grocery, pantry, receipt, and related household data among members. Access is tied to paid plans under PantryTalk Plus or membership in a household created by an entitled user. Member limits are shown in the App. Membership is invite/approve only — not a public social network. By creating or joining, you agree that household content described in the App and Privacy Policy will be stored in our cloud and visible to other members.
You must not use Shared Household to harass others or share unlawful content. Reporting and enforcement follow §7. We do not guarantee uninterrupted sync.
List names and item text you enter may be visible to other members of a shared list or Shared Household. You must not use sharing features to harass others, post hate speech, or share unlawful or infringing content. We do not provide automated text moderation or in-app messaging; misuse is addressed through these Terms and manual review.
When enabled and signed in, optional cloud AI features send data you submit (such as audio or images) to our API for processing by third-party AI services. You are responsible for the content you submit and for having the right to process it.
AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete. You must review results before confirming them into your pantry or grocery list. We do not guarantee correct identification of products, quantities, prices, allergens, or expiry dates inferred by AI.
The first time you enable cloud AI, the app presents a short Enable cloud AI notice. By tapping Enable cloud AI, you confirm that:
Accepting turns on the main AI-related settings together. You may turn individual features off in Settings at any time. If these responsibilities change materially, we may require you to accept the updated terms in the app before using cloud AI again.

We may suspend or restrict access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or pose a security or abuse risk.
Core local features remain usable free of charge (subject to Free-tier cloud AI limits). PantryTalk Plus offers optional paid plans via the app store, with benefits shown in the App. Free access does not create an entitlement to paid features or unlimited cloud AI usage — see §11.
Billing, renewals, cancellation, and refunds follow the rules of Google Play or the App Store, as applicable, and mandatory consumer law that cannot be waived. We do not separately guarantee pro‑rata refunds if we discontinue features or the App, beyond what the store and applicable law require. We may change plans or prices with notice as required by law.
Cloud AI and other optional cloud features are subject to fair-use limits that differ by plan. Current limits are shown in the App and may change. Unused allowance typically resets on a schedule shown in the App. PantryTalk Plus is billed via the store when you subscribe; Free-tier AI parses are not charged per request.
Shared-list caps, Shared Household access, live grocery alerts, backups, and other paid or optional features depend on entitlement and settings shown in the App. Limits, quotas, and availability may be changed at any time at the developer’s discretion — for example, to manage cost, prevent abuse, or adjust service quality. We are not obligated to maintain any specific quota level or feature. The App and API are provided on an “as available” basis; we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, including delivery of notifications or permanent cloud storage.
The App, its design, branding, and underlying software are owned by the PantryTalk developer and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or source code.
You retain ownership of the content you enter into the App (item names, lists, etc.). If you opt in to anonymous ingredient-mapping contributions, you grant us a limited licence to use those anonymised votes to improve shared dictionary quality.
THE APP AND CLOUD FEATURES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DEVELOPER OF PANTRYTALK SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP — INCLUDING FOOD WASTE, SPOILAGE, INCORRECT AI RESULTS, MISSED REMINDERS OR ALERTS, SYNC FAILURES, UNAVAILABLE CLOUD FEATURES, OR DELETION OR LOSS OF CLOUD DATA (INCLUDING ON SERVICE DISCONTINUATION).
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) EUR 50, EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it and, if signed in, signing out.
We may suspend or end your access, or discontinue the App, website, cloud APIs, sync, backups, push delivery, subscriptions entitlements we control, or any feature, with reasonable notice where practicable. We do not guarantee that cloud data will remain available after discontinuation; see the Privacy Policy (§ If the service ends). You are responsible for exporting or backing up information you need. Local data on your device remains yours to manage until you clear it or uninstall.
Paid subscriptions are billed by Google Play or the App Store. Cancellation and refunds follow those stores’ rules and mandatory consumer law. Discontinuation of the App or features does not by itself create a refund right beyond what those rules and the law require.
Sections that by nature should survive (including disclaimers, liability limits, intellectual property, and governing law) survive termination or discontinuation.
Our collection and use of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, including GDPR rights for users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland. By using cloud features (including shared grocery lists, Shared Household, live grocery alerts, and cloud AI), you acknowledge that processing described there will occur. We do not use your data for advertising.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, where permitted by law. Material changes to cloud AI responsibilities may require in-app re-acceptance before those features can be used again. Material changes to live list sharing may require re-acceptance of the shared-list cloud notice before sharing or joining.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence may still apply.
